Progress report on the “Construction of a goat farm, establishment of a pedigree stock farm for breeding the Alpine goats, construction of a farm for 1 milk goats including non-lactating goats, and a goat milk processing area with a capacity of up to 5 liters a day” investment project (the Kardymovo District)

A unique project for French goat cheese production is being implemented under the Ko & Co. Goats and Company trademark. Products branded as Ko & Co. Goats and Company can be found both in Smolensk and in the most famous trading networks of the capital. 

As a result of the first project stage completion, the company built and launched an automated dairy farm for 500 goats and 1 feed crib, as well as put into operation a milking room of the leading world brand (Israeli company S.A.E. Afikim) and a French cheese production area with the capacity of up to 2.5 thousand liters of milk a day. 

In September 2015, there took place solemn opening of the goat cheese production facility with the participation of the Governor of the Smolensk Region Alexey Ostrovsky. 

At present, the farm has reached the estimated capacity. Currently, there are being kept 730 goats, are being processed 3.5 tons of milk a day; the goat cheese output is about 300 kg a day (about 9 tons a month). 

In 2019, there are plans to purchase young cattle and to expand sowing areas. 

Currently, there are being kept 730 goats at the farm. To date, the enterprise reached its production capacity, and is the largest vertically-integrated complex for breeding dairy goats and producing quality goat cheese and goat milk, which are able to substitute its imported alternatives.

It is planned to expand its production capacity in 2021.
