Progress report on the “Construction of a greenhouse complex for growing vegetable and flower crops” investment project (the Smolensk District)

At present, Rogachev V.A. IE is being engaged in wholesale supply of flowers to Russia from Europe. The investor purchases flower seeds directly from the Dutch suppliers Haakman and Amsonia. The supplies volume is 80 million tulip bulbs a year. 

With the purpose of expanding and developing the flower business, the company decided to construct a greenhouse complex for tulips and vegetables cultivation in turn, including blocks of 4 greenhouses with a total area of 2.000 square meters, and an administrative building equipped with refrigerating chamber.. 

The estimated production capacity is 500 thsd tons a year. 

At present, there has been completed the first project stage with the support of the Administration of the Smolensk Region. The investor acquired a land plot of 6 ha. There has been built the road exit and have been provided all necessary utilities. The first greenhouses block with a total area of 1 thousand square meters has been put into operation. In February-March 2019, there was brought in the first harvest of tulips (about 200 thousand pieces of 12 sorts). In the period of April-July 2019, there were grown 5 lilies bulbs. There have been planted out 16 thousand strawberry bushes for seedlings sale. In April, there were planted out 5 lilies bulbs. Also, there was planted out a stool-bed - 5 thousand seeds of thuja; in autumn 2019, there have been already sold decorative tree transplants. 

In 2020, 400 thousand tulips (29 kinds) were planted and picked, as well as 4 thousand bushes of strawberry mother plants for the propagation (Dutch sorts). It is planned to build an administrative facility in 2021.
