Progress report on the “Creation of an agro-industrial complex: establishing an industrial apple orchard based on an intensive technology and launching apple and other fruit raw material processing” investment project (the Novodugino District)

The agricultural enterprise Gorodnyanskie Sady LLC is a part of the holding company Dneprovo which also includes such agricultural enterprises as Gorodnyanskoe and Meshcherskoe.

The first orchard was established in 2017. Currently, the works for establishing of the intensive apple orchard (unique technology in accordance with which on the plot of 1 ha up to 2 thousand trees are planted) on an area of 166 ha and traditional orchard on the area of 10 ha have been finished. 80 % of the orchard is Ligol apple trees.

Installation of the drip irrigation system and construction of the fruit storage facilities with a capacity of 2 thousand tons (refrigeration complex for apple storing with a separate area for sorting, shipment) have been finished.

Reaching the full capacity and getting the first significant fruitage (40 tons per ha) is planned for 2023. It is expected that by 2025 the total yield will reach 5.5-6 thousand tons.

In December 2019 the construction of the fruit storage with a capacity of 6 thousand tons with a separate sorting zone has been started in order to increase the fruit storage capacity.

In the future the investor plans to expand production, increase the orchard squares both in the Novodugino and Sychevka Districts (at the first stage — up to 300 ha, at the second —up to a 1 000 ha). Apple-processing for production of juice and jam is in plans as well. In addition, there will be a special transplant nursery.
